Get your gazebo ready for summer – our Top 5 Tips!
If you’re counting down the days till sunny weather, it’s a good time to give your gazebo or garden shelter a spruce up.
Here are our Top 5 Tips to get you started…
1. Dust
Despite the outdoor nature of gazebos and garden shelters, it’s easy for dust to accumulate, particularly on the tops of beams, internal roof structures and all the nooks and crannies of the wood, so it’s well worth getting your feather duster on to them as your first port of call.
2. Sweep
Autumn winds and February rains can bring with them an accumulation of little leaves, twigs, berries and other garden treasures that can get caught in between the grooves of decking, under seats etc and it’s best to clear these out before moving on to any liquid based cleaning.
3. Freshen up your canvas and cushions
Many gazebos and garden shelter owners have our colourful canvas panels and bench cushions. Made from high quality, UV resistant canvas, they will benefit from a freshen up each year. Warm soapy water is all that is needed to keep your canvas looking clean.
4. Stain
Every few years you might like to restain your gazebo, though not essential this can revive the look of the wood. There are many types of stain available, just ensure your chosen stain matches the current colour of your gazebo so that you are enhancing the wood rather than changing the entire look.
5. Brush
Whatever type of roof you have, whether Cape Reed Thatch Tiles or Cedar Shingle Roof Tiles, it’s well worth brushing down the roof after the Autumn/Winter period to ensure it looks as pristine as possible. This simple action also enables you to keep your roof in best possible condition.
These simple tips will help maintain your gazebo or garden shelter for years to come, and ensure you can get the most from your life outdoors.
