Does presentation matter? Recycling and the customer
As a customer focused business providing premium outdoor living products, we always want our products to look their best. How we balance that with recycling and making the most of existing materials is something we are very aware of and are always looking to improve upon. Whilst we all try not to ‘judge a book by its cover’ it’s inevitable that the presentation of a product that arrives through the post to you is going to affect your view of the product inside. With this in mind we have had to make some clear decisions regarding our recycling that we hope you will continue to support us in…
- Where possible, we do not use new cardboard boxes and will always endeavour to reuse boxes that we receive deliveries in.
- Internal packaging is also reused where possible, bubble wrap and similar items are a necessity when despatching parcels, but if we can reuse it we will.
- Wood offcuts are an inevitable result of our carpentry, and our offcuts get put to use in a variety of ways. From powering our wood fired oven on our outdoor kitchen design course, to creating signage and display materials at the office, we use up as much as possible in creative and useful ways.
- Paper in the office is always reused and we create pads of our own ‘once used’ paper instead of buying conventional notebooks.
We’ve also recently adopted the ‘Cycle to Work’ scheme for employees and are already being represented by Alan who cycles many miles to work each day to build his fitness for triathlons!
As we grow our business, our recycling processes will no doubt continue to evolve, but if you have any questions or suggestions in the meantime please don’t hesitate to contact us.
